Your garden tool collection is not complete without a hori hori knife - one of those absolute must-haves, that you'll be reaching for time and time again when weeding or planting.
The standard size S-Type Hori Hori features a razor sharp stainless steel blade, serrated down one side. The ergonomic beech handle gives it a lovely rustic look & feel.
The small size S-Type Hori Hori is ideal for smaller scale weeding and planting, and great for house plants, succulents and pricking out seedlings.
Please note, this is a pretty tough tool but it is not invincible. Do not stick it into hard ground and pull back, as this could cause it to bend.

CARING FOR YOUR TOOLS
Most of Niwaki's sharp tools are crafted from carbon steel. To keep your tools in good condition and ensure they last for many years of use, they require some simple but regular maintenance. Here are some usage & care tips, to help you get the most out of your tools...
Usage:
- Japanese steel is hard and sharp. To avoid chips and preserve the steel edge, do not cut wire, metal, stone, or plastic.
- Do not twist or apply uneven pressure
- It’s better to cut diagonally across branches (not straight across), so you cut along the fibres
- For heavier cuts, make sure you’re using the base of the blades (not the tips)
Care:
- Remove leaf resin, rust and gunk with a Crean Mate and water
- Dry, wipe over with Camellia Oil and store in a dry place
- Sharpen when needed (secateurs can be sharpened every couple of weeks, shears & topiary clippers after every use to see an incredible difference).
