This Japanese-made steel saw is excellent for pruning live trees. The saw features a hardened steel band construction, with impact hardening applied to the blade for impressive sharpness, hardness, and durability. It also features a varnished, pistol shaped wooden handle for a comfortable & firm grip.
This saw comes with a wooden sheath for safe & convenient transport and storage.
This is a “pull saw”, a type of Japanese saw designed to be used with a pull stroke action rather than a push stroke. This allows the blade to be thinner and more efficient, and the resulting edge is cleaner.

Usage:
- Japanese steel is hard and sharp. To avoid chips and preserve the steel edge, do not cut wire, metal, stone, or plastic.
- Do not twist or apply uneven pressure
- It’s better to cut diagonally across branches (not straight across), so you cut along the fibres
- For heavier cuts, make sure you’re using the base of the blades (not the tips)
Care:
- Remove leaf resin, rust and gunk with a Crean Mate and water
- Dry, wipe over with Camellia Oil and store in a dry place
