These premium, hand-crafted Hakari Clippers from Niwaki have all the clip of Topiary Clippers, but with a curve! These curved blade topiary clippers are tailor-made for the organic contours of cloud-pruned topiary and rolling, wavy hedges. Great for box balls and smaller scale yew clipping (not for straight lines!). A joy to use; the Hakari Clippers showcase Japanese craftmanship at it's finest.
The Hakari Clippers come in a hard-wearing canvas pouch. They are handmade especially for Niwaki in a small family-run factory in Yamagata, Japan.

Caring for your tools:
Most of Niwaki's sharp tools are crafted from carbon steel. To keep your tools in good condition and ensure they last for many years of use, they require some simple but regular maintenance. Here are some usage & care tips, to help you get the most out of your tools...
Usage:
- Japanese steel is hard and sharp. To avoid chips and preserve the steel edge, do not cut wire, metal, stone, or plastic.
- Do not twist or apply uneven pressure
- It’s better to cut diagonally across branches (not straight across), so you cut along the fibres
- For heavier cuts, make sure you’re using the base of the blades (not the tips)
Care:
- Remove leaf resin, rust and gunk with a Crean Mate and water
- Dry, wipe over with Camellia Oil and store in a dry place
- Sharpen when needed (secateurs can be sharpened every couple of weeks, shears & topiary clippers after every use to see an incredible difference).
