The Niwaki GR 210 Folding Saw is ideal for general garden pruning and light tree work. Keep this saw close at hand for thinning shrubs, pruning fruit trees and other tasks that secateurs or loppers can’t quite handle - great for easily cutting branches up to 7cm in diameter.
The 21cm steel blade makes it the perfect size for carrying about; it'll fit in the Double Holster with a pair of secateurs, or on its own in the Saw Holster. It also features a sturdy, ergonomic rubber handle for a good comfortable grip when in use.
As with all Japanese saws, it has a narrow blade for efficient sawing, and cuts on the pull stroke - go easy, and don’t twist or snag the blade.

CARING FOR YOUR TOOLS
Most of Niwaki's sharp tools are crafted from carbon steel. To keep your tools in good condition and ensure they last for many years of use, they require some simple but regular maintenance. Here are some usage & care tips, to help you get the most out of your tools...
Usage:
- Japanese steel is hard and sharp. To avoid chips and preserve the steel edge, do not cut wire, metal, stone, or plastic.
- Do not twist or apply uneven pressure
- It’s better to cut diagonally across branches (not straight across), so you cut along the fibres
- For heavier cuts, make sure you’re using the base of the blades (not the tips)
Care:
- Remove leaf resin, rust and gunk with a Crean Mate and water
- Dry, wipe over with Camellia Oil and store in a dry place
- Sharpen when needed (secateurs can be sharpened every couple of weeks, shears & topiary clippers after every use to see an incredible difference).
