Use Perlite Root Mix to improve drainage and aeration in soil mixes. It's ideal for creating custom, free-draining substrate mixes, or can be used on it's own for hydroponic growing. Perlite is an easy way to add aeration into heavy, compact soils and potting mixes, and can help to reduce the risk of root rot.
As perlite on it's own doesn't retain much moisture, it is often mixed with other substrates such as vermiculite, which retains a lot of water.
